NanoHPC is a one-day workshop focused on high-performance computing (HPC) applied to atomistic and nanoscale molecular modeling. The workshop will cover a broad range of computational approaches, from classical molecular dynamics simulations to quantum mechanical ab initio methods, highlighting how HPC enables the study of increasingly realistic, complex, and large-scale molecular systems.

Agriculture worldwide is facing massive challenges in production, distribution, pollution reduction, food security and waste: In a $4 trillion global food production industry, <40% of any crop is actually marketed. The farm, the oldest human- engineered system, produces the vast majority of human sustenance and consumes the majority of global freshwater. Its efficient operation is crucial –particularly when supply chains are disrupted by wars and pandemics.

With the restructuring and dismantling of legacy centers like the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), the LAC region faces a critical choice: wait for external leadership or build a self-sustaining, collaborative ecosystem. This year’s workshop focuses on sovereignty in forecasting—moving beyond traditional North-South dependencies..
